Fariñas' performance has put him in contention to start at right-back against Aston Villa in the upcoming Champions League match. The decision may depend on the status of Jules Kounde, who is currently uncertain. Flick may also choose a traditional full-back duo of João Cancelo and Alejandro Balde.
The possibility of Fariñas starting has sparked debate, with Barca Blaugranes posing the question of whether he should start at right-back against Aston Villa, inviting readers to share their opinions in the comments.

Source context
Hansi Flick was forced into a few creative changes at the back in Satuday’s dominant La Liga win over Alavés, and while Frenkie de Jong’s performance at center-back has been the subject of plenty of attention, Brian Fariñas’ display at right-back cannot be overlooked. The 20-year-old midfielder made his debut for the first team out of position but had a very good night, looking comfortable in the role and making smart contributions in attack with his overlapping runs and passes into the final third. His defense was also solid, and Fariñas is definitely in contention to remain in the lineup for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Aston Villa at Camp Nou.
