From the source

Ahead of Bayern Munich’s DFB-Pokal match against FC Magdeburg, the team lined up on both sides of the tunnel exit for one reason: to give newly crowned 2026 Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane a guard of honor.

The Englishman walked out to applause and cheers—a reception he found almost unbelievable. Kane admitted (via Bild as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “When I came out for the warm-up and everyone was standing there applauding, I don’t know… I felt almost a little bit embarrassed.

But of course, I realise that it’s a big deal.” Although Kane remained on the bench for the entirety of the match, the Bavarians cruised to a 6-1 victory to advance to the next round.
