Napoli are planning to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window, having had a quiet summer with only two new recruits, according to Football Italia citing TMW. They are looking to bring in a new midfielder and attacker, but this depends on players leaving the club. Lorenzo Lucca and Noa Lang are reportedly the top candidates to be sold.
Napoli's preferred attacking target is Monza's Gustavo Varela, who has scored eight goals in his first eight Serie A appearances. However, Monza is expected to resist selling him until the end of the 2026-27 season. As a result, Napoli is considering alternative options.
One of the alternatives Napoli is considering is FC Nuremberg's 22-year-old left winger Mohamed Ali Zoma, who has scored seven goals in his first eight appearances in the 2. Bundesliga and recently earned his first Italy national team cap. Napoli is also interested in Torino's Alessandro Cacciamani, but Torino is reportedly unwilling to sell him for less than €40m.
