Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak may have joined Liverpool training after the cameras stopped rolling on Thursday

Liverpool fans’ worst fears about Sunday’s clash against Manchester City appeared to be confirmed on Thursday as neither Alexander Isak nor Cody Gakpo were spotted in training.

The Reds released their customary ‘Inside Training’ video showing behind the scenes of the session, with no sign of Isak or Gakpo out on the AXA Training Centre pitches.

However, both players were spotted in the video, walking through into the changing area in full kit before their teammates headed onto the grass. And although neither were shown training, the LFCTV cameras only released the rondos from the start of the workout.
