Tottenham icon Dele Alli reveals how close he is to a return to football

Former Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has revealed he is edging closer to a return to football, after spending over a year without a club. So far, Dele Alli ’s return to the football pitch after his off-field struggles with mental health has not gone as planned.

That comeback included a brief spell in Italy with Serie A side Como, but it ended poorly. Alli played just ten minutes under Cesc Fabregas before being sent off on his debut after a challenge on Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Following a falling out with the club, the former Spurs midfielder terminated his 18-month contract , bringing his stay at Como to an end on 2 September 2025.
