Chelsea could buy two other targets and still have change instead of paying new Alex Scott fee
Story updated
The story in brief
29-second readAll of a sudden, it looks as though Chelsea have a genuine chance of signing Alex Scott from Bournemouth in January. Up until Tuesday, Bournemouth’s stance was that Scott would not be for sale in the January transfer window.
However, that stance appears to have softened, with it emerging that the Cherries are now open to a winter exit if the conditions are right.
The midfielder is still expected to cost a £100m fee. In fact, before Tuesday’s news, journalist Simon Phillips claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that it would take something closer to £130m to get Scott out of the Vitality Stadium in January.
