Tottenham have made their position on Lucas Bergvall increasingly clear ahead of the winter market, with TEAMtalk reporting that the north London club are highly unlikely to sanction a move unless a replacement is secured first.

Bergvall, still only 20, has attracted attention from Barcelona, Napoli and Juventus. Yet the key message from Spurs is straightforward. They do not want to leave themselves short in midfield during the season, particularly with the player now working his way back from injury and still considered part of Roberto De Zerbi’s plans.

The report states that “Tottenham are highly reluctant to sell Lucas Bergvall to any of his admirers including Barcelona”, a line that underlines the club’s current stance.
