33-second readLisandro Martinez called out Manchester United’s lack of ambition as the defender doubled down on his scathing criticism of the club’s hierarchy, with football director Jason Wilcox facing the brunt of an explosive interview.
Michael Carrick’s 10 men fell to a 2-0 loss against Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano on Tuesday night. It was their first Champions League defeat of the season, after previously beating FK Sabah 4-0 in their opener last month.
Speaking after the match, Lisandro Martinez wielded his cleaver and criticised Jason Wilcox for a lack of investment in the squad in the summer. Martinez suggests the players thought United would invest more money in the squad during the summer, after spending just over £155m on new players.
