A different story is being written by Alexander Isak at Liverpool this season after his troubles during his debut campaign at Anfield. That was mainly down to not having a pre-season before joining from Newcastle United, and then constant injuries derailing what turned out to be a very poor campaign.
But Isak’s goal during Liverpool’s win over Brighton on Sunday further proved to Steven Gerrard that his former side has now come to life, including the attack looking ‘faster, more energetic and more intense.’
But speaking to The Overlap Daily, Gerrard raised his concerns over Isak’s fitness, and whether he is ‘robust’ enough to last the season. When Isak is on song, there aren’t many better players to watch in the Premier League because he is a natural finisher of the highest order.
