LONDON, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 01: Arsenal fans hold up scarfs as players stand for a minutes silence ahead of Remembrance Day before the Barclays Women's Super League 2026/27 match between Arsenal FC and Aston Villa FC at Emirates Stadium on November 01, 2026 in London, England. From the source

Arsenal went into Sunday’s game against Aston Villa looking to make it three wins in a row after beating Tottenham 2-1 last weekend and Benfica 3-0 in the Champions League in midweek.

The Gunners started brightly and looked to take the game to Brian Sorenson’s side but, despite dominating and allowing Villa practically nothing in the opening 25 minutes, the Gunners found themselves a goal down from the visitors’ first (and, as it would turn out, only) attempt.

The goal was Arsenal’s own fault. Poor defending saw Misa retreat to her line when the ball was there for her come out and clear and, from that point, the goal seemed inevitable.
