Liverpool supporters will be concerned that they are drifting towards becoming Manchester United after back-to-back defeats under Andoni Iraola. The Reds are already on their second manager since Jurgen Klopp’s exit, and just as United have struggled to replace Sir Alex Ferguson, Liverpool cannot seem to evoke the spirit that left along with their legendary former manager.
Thankfully, what they have been able to do has been to consistently outclass United in the transfer market. One such occasion arrived this summer, when Liverpool pounced to sign Jeremy Jacquet for a £60m fee from Rennes.
Jacquet has gone on to be a sensation at Anfield, with Red Devils’ legend Peter Schmeichel now claiming that he wished the Frenchman had joined Man United instead.
