Real Madrid beat Barcelona in a significant match, with manager Jose Mourinho receiving substantial credit for the win due to his tactical decisions and lineup choices. The team performed well overall, with most starters having excellent games. The win was attributed to the team's high level of performance and Mourinho's strategies. The match was crucial for Real Madrid as they were in desperate need of a win.

Mourinho's decisions, including the starting lineup and substitutions, were praised for being largely flawless. The setup, featuring a ball-dominant midfielder alongside Aurelien Tchouameni, was considered perfect, and players like Fede Valverde and Arda Guler performed well in their roles. The substitutions, except for Denzel Dumfries, were also effective, with Eduardo Camavinga's substitution being particularly noteworthy. The tactics employed by Real Madrid, including pressing and forcing turnovers, were seen as key to their success.

The tactics chosen by Mourinho were considered appropriate for the match against Barcelona, as playing a low block and relying on counterattacks might not have been effective due to Barcelona's high defensive line. Instead, Real Madrid's pressing and build-up play, supported by players like Bernardo Silva, allowed them to create chances. The performance was seen as a model for future success, with the outcome being attributed more to the players if they had lost rather than Mourinho's strategy.
