The defender has been diagnosed with a left flexor strain with a partial tendon tear, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports. He will visit a specialist to assess whether he needs surgery to repair the damage or if he can make a full recovery through rest and rehab.
Either way, he’ll spend at least a couple of months on the shelf. Gabbia was making his first start in the clash between Milan and Sassuolo.
