Newcastle United have plenty to address after a difficult start to the 2026/27 Premier League campaign, with Matthias Jaissle still working to establish his preferred style following his appointment in August.
The Magpies have struggled for consistency, collecting two wins, two draws and three defeats across their opening seven league matches. Three defeats in their last four outings have increased the pressure on Jaissle to find answers, particularly in central midfield.
Summer recruitment brought significant changes to the squad, including Nico González, whose £50 million arrival from Manchester City added another option in the middle of the park.
