From the source

Liverpool tried twice to sign Yankuba Minteh in the summer and got nowhere. The first offer was £50m. Brighton rejected both, then pushed the price up to £80m.

At that point, the deal was effectively dead. That matters again now because Brighton could have Minteh back in time for the trip to Anfield.

If he is involved, it will be his first competitive appearance of the season, and the first since Liverpool’s interest failed to turn into a transfer.
