From the source

This season, Arsenal have Liverpool breathing down their necks, fighting for the Premier League title. The Gunners’ greatest victory versus the Reds came a little over 90 years ago during the 1934/35 campaign, before George Allison’s Arsenal eventually collected the First Division treble come the end of the season.

At the time, Liverpool were far from the team they are now. In fact, during the 1933/34 campaign, they finished 18th in the English top flight, only four points off the drop to the Second Division.

However, on 1 September 1934, at Highbury, the “Home of Football”, Liverpool were completely annihilated 8-1. After only 20 minutes, Ray Bowden, a crucial striker during the 1930s who grabbed 55 goals in 158 appearances, opened the scoring.
