Newcastle United travels to Selhurst Park on Sunday for its Premier League Matchday 8 game against Crystal Palace. Matthias Jaissle’s side enters the match following consecutive league defeats, losing 4-1 at Coventry City before suffering a 1-0 home defeat to Aston Villa last weekend.

Newcastle has collected eight points from its opening seven matches and sits 11th in the table. The Magpies have struggled defensively, to say the least, conceding in six consecutive Premier League matches and going 13 league games without a clean sheet dating back to last season.

Newcastle has also lost its last two away fixtures, although it has scored in four consecutive road matches. Crystal Palace, meanwhile, enters the weekend 14th with seven points from seven league matches.
