Earlier report
Fleetwood Town beat Arsenal 5-3 on penalties in the League Cup fourth round after holding them to a 1-1 draw in normal time tonight. The Gunners became the first defending Premier League champions to be knocked out of the competition by a fourth-tier side. This was only the second time the Gunners had been eliminated by a fourth-tier side, after losing to Bradford City on penalties in the 2012/13 season. Arsenal started the stronger side, but Fleetwood broke the deadlock in the 21st minute. Aaron Loupalo-Bi drove past teenage centre-back Marli Salmon before slotting the ball into the far corner.Read original report ↗
