Joe Gomez has some kind words for Chelsea after his Liverpool side eliminated them from the Carabao Cup fourth round. At two different points during the game, it looked like it was going to be Chelsea’s night.
Despite not playing well, the Blues took the lead in the 40th minute after Morgan Rogers converted a penalty. However, that was quickly cancelled out when Cody Gakpo scored from a spot-kick, which Liverpool were awarded shortly after.
The match eventually went to penalties, and Emmanuel Emegha had the chance to win the tie but had his spot-kick saved. In the end, it all came down to Wesley Fofana, who skied his penalty to send Chelsea crashing out of the competition.
