Rumour Mongering: Liverpool Table $50M Offer for Gilberto Mora
Story updated
The story in brief
34-second readOver the weekend, European reports started to emerge linking Liverpool with rising star 17-year-old Mexican attacking midfielder Gilberto Mora. Now, outlets a little closer to the player are now joining the fray.
According to Mexico City-based, American-owned broadcaster TUDN, European interest in the youngster is currently high—and nobody is more interested in signing him than Liverpool. In fact, they claim that via the player’s agents, Tijuana have been made aware of a $50M offer from the Reds.
We’re going to assume that’s in American dollars, which would come out to about £38M. It’s a fee that seems exceptionally high—and highly unlikely, in our opinion—but the alternative of it being fifty million pesos works out to just about £2M which seems even less likely.
