Arsenal is interested in signing Monza striker Gustavo Varela, who has scored seven goals in seven league matches this season. The Gunners see him as a top player to replace Viktor Gyokeres, who has been underperforming since joining Arsenal. Napoli is also interested in Varela, and the competition for his signature is expected to be fierce. Varela's quality and goal-scoring record make him a desirable addition to either team.
The challenge for Arsenal is not just Napoli's interest but also the potential ease of transition for Varela to an Italian club. Napoli could offer Varela a smoother transition since he is already playing in Serie A with Monza. Arsenal, on the other hand, will have to sell players first, which complicates their bid. The Brazilian's form has caught the attention of multiple clubs.
The coming weeks, particularly the January transfer window, will be crucial in determining Varela's future. Arsenal's ability to secure Varela depends on their progress in selling players and competing with Napoli's potentially more straightforward offer. The race for his signature is heating up, and a move to a bigger club seems likely for the in-form striker.

Source context
Gustavo Varela has been one of the most in-form strikers in Europe’s top leagues this season, and Arsenal is keen to add him to their squad. The striker plays for Monza in Serie A, and he only joined the club this season, yet he has been one of the most in-form strikers in the top European leagues. He has scored seven goals in as many league matches for them, and it is now hard for them to keep him as Arsenal is one of the clubs keen to sign him.
