Manchester United have made enquiries about Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios and Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez as they explore options to strengthen their midfield. The Premier League club are assessing potential reinforcements ahead of the January transfer window and have identified both Spanish players as possible targets.
According to transfer journalist Matteo Moretto, speaking on Radio MARCA’s La Pizarra, United have sought information about the availability of both midfielders. However, the discussions remain preliminary, with no formal negotiations currently taking place with either club.
“They’ve inquired about both of them; there’s no negotiation, just an inquiry.” Barrios has established himself as an important player at Atletico Madrid, making a potential departure particularly difficult to negotiate.
