Inter had to come from behind yet again to claim a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina in Serie A on Sunday afternoon, which has kept the Nerazzurri at the top of the league table for another week and has provided Cristian Chivu and his team with two encouraging statistics.
Inter are now up to 22 points from their first eight games of the 2026-27 season. This is their best start in Serie A for the last 10 seasons, dating back to the 2017-18 campaign under Luciano Spalletti, and is also a better start than any of the club’s last three Serie A title-winning campaigns.
They are already seven points better off than they were at the same stage of last season, when they went on to win the Scudetto in Chivu’s first season in charge.
