From the source

For the time being, Manchester United have decided to give Michael Carrick some more time to try and turn the club’s fortunes around. The Red Devils have not won in the Premier League for almost two months and are languishing in 16th position.

From tactical errors to poor substitution calls and an overall lack of fitness, the job has proved beyond the former United midfielder. However, due to the costs involved in sacking him, INEOS have given him until the November international break.

Extensive crisis talks were held at Carrington following the Bournemouth debacle, and rumours emerged of United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, approaching Eddie Howe as a possible replacement.
