Pierre Sage joined Palace in the summer on a three-year deal, replacing Oliver Glasner, after leading Lens to second place in Ligue 1. Four months in, the Frenchman is under pressure.

Palace have won only two of their first eight Premier League games and lost five, leaving them 17th with seven points, one place above the relegation zone.

The latest blow came on Sunday, when Newcastle United won 2-0 at Selhurst Park. William Osula and Harvey Barnes scored 11 minutes apart early in the second half, and Palace fans booed the team at full-time.
