From the source

Enzo Maresca's side arrived at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon with an impressive winning streak of seven league games. Manchester City knew they were in for a challenge though with the home side not only doing the double over them last season but also winning this fixture in the last three campaigns.

Villa started brightly as predicted and soon raced into an early lead through Nicolas Jackson's upward strike, gifted by Marc Guehi's poor first touch. City rallied and went close to an equaliser, with Iliman Ndiaye looking lively with several attempts, striking the post in the process.

Going into the break trailing, the Citizens came out swinging and soon found themselves level through Erling Haaland's header. Despite this reinvigoration, Villa soon retook the lead through Jackson again with an effort that Gianluigi Donnarumma really should have done better with.
