Tottenham starlet Souza finally made his long-awaited debut for Porto in their Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday. The full-back only started two games for Tottenham Hotspur during the second half of last season after arriving with a big reputation from Santos back in January.
The North London club would have hoped he would get regular football at Porto, but the left-back has had to watch on patiently from the sidelines so far.
Over recent weeks, some reports have indicated that the Porto coaching staff have been impressed by Souza’s hunger and maturity in training, and the youngster finally did enough to convince manager Francesco Farioli to give him some game time.
