At the Allianz Arena, Bayern made a bright start against Magdeburg in their DFB Pokal second-round matchup, taking the lead after just ten minutes. Lennart Karl played an excellent through ball to Ismael Saibari, who squared iy for Michael Olise.

The winger was left with a simple finish to put the home side ahead. Magdeburg were undeterred by the early setback and soon found an equalizer.

Mateusz Żukowski’s effort took a deflection on its way in, leaving Jonas Urbig somewhat unlucky to concede. Bayern weren't phased by the equalizer in the slightest, re-taking the lead just six minutes later through Ismael Saibari.
