Napoli have announced that the club will appeal the recent decision to hand a two-match suspension to head coach Massimiliano Allegri following his outburst at the end of Saturday’s 3-3 draw against Roma.
Allegri was shown a red card for his passionate protests after Leonardo Balerdi’s late equaliser during Napoli’s 3-3 draw against Roma was deemed legal, without the need for the referee to go over to the monitor to review it.
He was reported to have told the fourth official Juan Luca Sacchi ‘if you don’t disallow this goal …’, before being shown the red card and then angrily shouted ‘what did I say?
