Barcelona have found themselves in a difficult situation in recent weeks, with the defence suffering a number of injuries. Hansi Flick is without Andreas Christensen, Eric Garcia, Jules Kounde and Xavi Espart through injury.

This has forced the German manager to get creative and start Frenkie de Jong at centre-back and Brian Farinas at right-back against Deportivo Alaves. However, this has also prompted the Catalan club to realise that their defensive depth is far from sufficient and that they may have to enter the transfer market.

One player Barça have been linked with is Pedro Porro. Joan Laporta is said to be a huge fan of the Spanish right-back, although a January move is considered improbable.
