Kobbie Mainoo returned to Manchester United training earlier this week, while Benjamin Sesko is expected to be out for another long period. Injuries hinder most seasons, but with Michael Carrick struggling to win matches, Manchester United need their best players to stand up if they’re to turn results around.

It doesn’t help that key players have been out injured, like Kobbie Mainoo and the squad’s only recognised centre-forward, Benjamin Sesko. Luke Shaw is unable to play every match, and there’s no cover at left-back, while injuries continue to prevent Carrick from settling on his best midfield combination.

United got a boost this week as Mainoo returned to training, but there was bad news regarding Sesko. The Slovenian could be out of action until the beginning of the new year.
