Mathys Tel has been rewarded for his fine performances for Tottenham recently and for his displays for France’s U21s during the last international break. Tel has certainly not had it easy at Spurs, arriving at the club at one of their lowest phases and enduring a relegation battle in his first full season in North London.
It is sometimes easy to forget that the wide-forward is just 21 years of age and has plenty of room to develop. We have seen the former Bayern Munich man showcase glimpses of his quality in Tottenham’s last two matches against Chelsea and Crystal Palace, with the Frenchman arguably being Spurs’ standout attacker at Stamford Bridge.
According to L’Equipe, Tel has now been rewarded with a call-up to France’s preliminary list for the Nations League matches against Italy and Turkey.
