From the source

Villarreal striker Georges Mikautadze has declared that he is ready to join a major European club, while admitting that Barcelona’s previous interest in him was particularly flattering.

The Georgia international attracted attention after an impressive first season following his move from Lyon, scoring 16 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions. Barcelona were among the clubs monitoring his situation, with sporting director Deco reportedly keen on the forward.

However, Hansi Flick was not convinced that the transfer was the right move for the Catalan side. Mikautadze has now made clear that he believes he has the qualities to take the next step in his career, although his performances this season have not yet matched the standards he established last term.
