Ian Maatsen has faced so much unfair criticism after Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Fulham on Saturday. The Dutchman has often been viewed as a liability in claret and blue.
His first two seasons were hardly anything to write home about despite high expectations upon his arrival. That has changed this campaign, and he has become a truly important member of Unai Emery's squad.
His injury certainly hurt and it has been a boost to get him back. Maatsen continued his positive form against Fulham, but not all fans see it that way in B6.
