The latest edition of the Basque Derby is of course set to be contested this weekend, when Athletic welcome bitter rivals Sociedad to Bilbao. The hosts have been forced to sweat over the wellbeing of several key performers in the buildup to the fixture, with one such player coming in the form of the aforementioned Oihan Sancet.
Attacking midfielder Sancet has not taken to the pitch for over a month now, owing to a calf injury. The 26-year-old, though, has spent recent days ramping up his recovery efforts, with a view to making himself available for selection for the derby.
