These are crucial hours for Liverpool’s hopes of renewing Rio Ngumoha’s contract. Now 18 the England winger has been eligible for a long-term deal since his birthday in August. Despite an agreement being considered somewhat of a formality the new deal for now remains unsigned. Ngumoha signed a deal until 2028 upon turning 17 last year - giving the 2024/25 Premier League champions some breathing space in negotiations. The club would dearly love for that date to be extended - particularly given Rio’s extraordinary start to the season.
