From the source

Dejan Kulusevski has just achieved something that will make him very proud after returning to the pitch for Tottenham Hotspur. Kulusevski had suffered a complicated injury to his right patella just days before the Europa League final against Manchester United back in 2025.

At the time, the expectation was that he would return much sooner, but the injury proved far more complicated than anyone had anticipated. He had to undergo multiple surgeries, and it took him 18 months to build up enough strength to play football.

The Tottenham man even admitted that at times he thought he might not play football again, as he had difficulty walking since his cartilage had completely broken off.
