Nicolas Jackson's form for Aston Villa has been recognised by the Premier League. The 25-year-old has made a positive impact since his £47.5million move from Chelsea, which could rise considerably more.

Jackson has scored eight goals in 12 Premier League and Champions League games combined for Villa this term. Six of those goals came in six outings in October, as the Senegal international truly found his feet at Villa Park.

Jackson has now been nominated for October's Premier League Player of the Month award. But history suggests both he and Villa fans should not get too excited just yet.
