Newcastle United spent £547m on 14 signings over 14 months, according to The Mag. The total includes potential future add-ons and is based on reported transfer fees. The publication acknowledges that the exact fees are unknown in most cases, but believes the estimate is reasonably accurate. The signings were made in the summer 2025 and 2026 transfer windows.
The Mag lists the signings, with summer 2025 incomings totaling £256.5m and summer 2026 incomings totaling £290.5m. Some of the signings, including Lukas Hornicek, Amar Dedic, Nico Gonzalez, and Anthony Elanga, started in Newcastle's match against Everton. These four players represented around £152m of the total £547m spent.
The Mag notes that several of the signings were not in the starting lineup against Everton, with some on the bench and others injured or playing for other clubs. The publication speculates that the team composition may change in the future, potentially excluding some of the expensive signings. It questions how Newcastle United arrived at a situation where many of the signings are not in the starting lineup.

I make it 14 Newcastle United signings in 14 months. I make it £547m committed on these 14 signings, including potential future add-ons. We don’t know the exact transfer fees in most cases and so these are my best guesstimates based on what has been reported. However, I don’t think the totals will be a million miles away from the reality, nor tens of millions of pounds away either. Yet sure enough, it still added up to £547m spent on Newcastle United signings in 14 months! I make that four of the 14 Newcastle United signings started last night. Hornicek, Dedic, Gonzalez and Elanga representing around £152m of that £547m outlay in 14 months, so where are the other ten Newcastle United signings representing some £395m???
