From the source

Tottenham have entered an eight‑horse race for AS Roma full‑back Wesley as they look to bolster their right‑back depth. Tottenham Hotspur failed to secure a replacement for Djed Spence following his £30 million summer move to Inter Milan and are now short at right-back this season.

At present, Pedro Porro is the only recognised right-back at the club, which is far from ideal. His recent injury against Aston Villa has already forced Spurs to turn to makeshift options in his absence.

This season has seen youngster Archie Gray deployed at right-back, while Jan Paul van Hecke was used in a hybrid centre-back role against Coventry City.
