Crystal Palace are firmly in the mix for Lecce defender Tiago Gabriel, but early indications suggest any move will be far from straightforward, with Serie A clubs currently holding a strong hand in the battle for the highly rated 21-year-old.

According to TeamTalk, Palace are regarded as the leading Premier League side in the chase for the Portuguese centre-back, who has impressed since arriving at Lecce from Estrela Amadora in January 2025.

He is described as having become one of Serie A’s standout young defenders, and that rise has understandably drawn attention from multiple markets. The central theme of this developing story is clear.
