Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly scouting Sevilla midfielder Youssouf Fofana, who can operate as both a number 6 and 8, according to To The Lane And Back. The club has undergone a midfield rebuild, signing Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, but faces uncertainty with Rodrigo Bentancur's age and Lucas Bergvall's potential exit. Tottenham have begun initial contact with Fofana's parent club, AC Milan.
Fofana, a 27-year-old French international, is currently on loan at Sevilla from AC Milan. He has rebuilt his stock with consistent displays, scoring a goal and three assists in eight La Liga games. AC Milan are open to a permanent sale, seeking to generate funds rather than risk losing value as his contract nears its end. Sevilla, however, face financial challenges in making his loan permanent.
Tottenham's interest in Fofana is driven by the need for midfield depth, particularly with Bentancur's injury history and Bergvall's uncertain future. Fofana's versatility and abilities make him a suitable addition. However, Tottenham will face competition from Juventus, who have also added him to their wishlist, making the signing challenging.

Source context
Tottenham Hotspur underwent a massive squad rebuild in the summer, and one of the areas that was reinforced is the midfield. Spurs spent big to sign Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes after releasing Joao Palhinha and Yves Bissouma at the end of last season. It has taken some time, but Tonali and Fernandes are finally starting to click into gear, playing instrumental roles in the wins over Coventry City, Chelsea and Crystal Palace. However, with Rodrigo Bentancur not getting any younger and Lucas Bergvall linked with an exit despite penning fresh terms in September, Roberto De Zerbi has been left in a dilemma.
