Trent Alexander-Arnold is committed to staying at Real Madrid despite struggling to secure regular starts under Jose Mourinho, according to Guillem Balague, a respected Spanish football journalist cited by talkSPORT. Alexander-Arnold has faced challenges in Madrid, where regular starts are no longer automatic. He is reported to be behind Fede Valverde and Denzel Dumfries in the pecking order, with Eder Militao also being used in his position. When he has played, it has often been in midfield due to other players' absences.

Mourinho has reportedly reassured Alexander-Arnold, telling him to continue working hard and that his opportunity will come. Alexander-Arnold is said to believe his moment will arrive, despite currently being third or fourth choice in his position. The message from within the club is one of reassurance, with Mourinho acknowledging it has been tough for Alexander-Arnold to be limited to midfield appearances.

While speculation about Alexander-Arnold's future will continue as long as his situation in Spain is uncertain, there is still time for him to change his fortunes. If Mourinho starts giving him consistent game time, his situation could improve. Liverpool supporters hoping for a reunion should be patient, as another six months on the fringes could reopen the conversation about his future.
