Bayern Munich came off Der Klassiker even more injury-riddled than they were before, leaving fans worried for their fate in this much-anticipated Champions League away clash against Atlético Madrid.
But Bayern, despite a personnel crisis, put every fear to bed and delivered a dominant performance and, for the first time ever, won a Champions League game against Atlético Madrid at the Metropolitano.
Atlético put on a very weak showing tonight and allowed Bayern to control the game for the most part. They positioned themselves well in the first half to make it difficult for Bayern to get into the right angles to shoot, but began to unravel in the second half, which was a flurry of constant Bayern chances.
