Chelsea have reportedly held discussions over a deal to sign Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi, as per the Blues’ transfer journalist Simon Phillips. Xabi Alonso currently has João Pedro and Danny Welbeck as striker options.
The Brazilian has been an undisputed starter in the CF position but has been out injured in recent weeks. On the other hand, Welbeck has found it difficult to break into Alonso’s starting line-up since joining from Brighton and Hove Albion last summer.
Moreover, he has reached the twilight of his career; as a result, it appears the West London club have started exploring options to purchase a new No.9.
