The stakes could not be higher for Michael Carrick’s future at Old Trafford going into the Premier League match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

Michael Carrick is hanging on by the skin of his teeth after narrowly avoiding a potential sacking from his role as Manchester United manager earlier this week.

The 45-year-old Red Devils boss’ future appeared to be sealed after United’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford last Sunday.
