Few players have benefited from the change in head coach at Liverpool this summer quite as much as Alexis Mac Allister. The Argentine was one of the worst offenders during Arne Slot’s final season in charge, looking like a shadow of the player who had lit up his first two years at Anfield.
Thankfully, Andoni Iraola has tapped into whatever was getting the best out of Mac Allister, and the No. 10 once again looks like one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
On the surface, Iraola has not changed all that much, but according to Mac Allister, the team being more ‘compact and connected’ has massively helped him.
