Alexis Mac Allister has once again been asked about his long term future at Liverpool, and once again the answer amounted to patience rather than progress.
The Argentine midfielder is contracted until 2028, but there is still no sign of fresh terms being tabled, months after he made clear he was unhappy a new deal did not arrive over the summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Mac Allister was candid about how little has actually shifted behind the scenes. The situation did not change, he explained, before pointing to the upheaval elsewhere at the club, a new sporting director already in place and fresh ownership on the way.
