The story in brief
7-second readJames McAtee’s rumoured return to Manchester City is not on the cards despite the playmaker's impressive form at Nottingham Forest, as per a new report.
From the source
The 24-year-old started his senior career with City in 2021 and was on two consecutive season-long loans to Sheffield United for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns.
He then parted ways with his boyhood club to join Nottingham Forest in August 2025 on a five-year contract for a reported total fee of about £30 million.
Recent reports suggested that Manchester City could be interested in bringing McAtee back to the Etihad Stadium, especially considering that his deal includes a buy-back clause.
