The final voting tallies for the top-10 finishers in this year’s Ballon d’Or have been revealed by France Football. Frontman Mbappé was of course left disappointed for the latest occasion at the ‘Golden Ball’ ceremony earlier this week.
Considered amongst the very frontrunners to be named world football’s standout performer for the prior 12 months, the Frenchman was ultimately forced to make do without the runner-up spot.
Instead, the Ballon d’Or went the way of prolific Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane. Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal, meanwhile, rounded out the podium places.
